What is Tone Coat?

One bag.
Endless colour.

Tone Coat is a hand-tinted pigment bag that you simply mix into a standard bag of British Gypsum Multi-Finish plaster. No specialist skills, no complicated processes — just beautiful, consistent colour built directly into your plaster finish.

1

Choose your tone

Browse our palette of 14 hand-crafted colours and select the one that suits your project.

2

Mix with Multi-Finish

Empty one bag of Tone Coat into a full 25kg bag of British Gypsum Multi-Finish plaster and mix thoroughly.

3

Apply as normal

Skim and finish as you would any multi-finish plaster. The colour is built in — warm, natural, and consistent every time.

The Finish is Yours to Create

Because Tone Coat becomes the plaster itself — not a paint applied over it — you have complete creative freedom over the final surface. Scratch it, sponge it, brush it, skip trowel it, smudge it. Achieve the look of microcement, limewash, Venetian plaster, or something entirely your own. No two walls need ever be the same.

We Recommend Sealing Your Finish

Once applied and fully set, sealing your Tone Coat finish will enhance its depth and dramatically prolong its life. General-purpose stone sealers or clear wax work beautifully. Coming soon: our own ToneCoat Sealer range — engineered specifically for this system, offering splash-proof and moisture-resistant protection in matte, satin, and gloss finishes, ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, and high-traffic areas.
